Abstract

PURPOSE:To control furnace temperature effectively by estimating the temperature distribution of each furnac zone through signals from furnace temperature detector of each zone of a heating furnace and thereby presupposing the slab temperature. CONSTITUTION:Signals from furnace temperature detectors 4 provided at two places in each furnace zone of a heating furnace 1 is inputted to a furnace zone temperature estimating device 8. The furnace zone temperature estimating device 8 estimates the furnace zone temperature distribution at that time basing on the furnace temperature detected by the furnace temperature detectors 4 and furnace temperature distribution data measured beforehand. The output of this device is inputted to a slab temperature estimating device 5, and an accurate slab temperature is estimated using neary correct furnace temperature distribution obtained from the furnace zone temperature estimating device 8, and outputted to a furnace temperature deciding device 6. Then, appropriateness of the furnace temperature at that time is judged considering estimated temperature, target heating temperature and position in the furnace stored in the memory unit 10, and command value is given to a furnace temperature regulator 7 to control the furnace temperature accurately.
