Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a composition for wood preservation, having low toxicity to man and cattle, rapid actions and remarkably high synergistic insecticidal activity, and effective for preservation of wood against both decay and mold, by compounding permethrin with 2,4,6-tribromophenol.
CONSTITUTION: A wood preservative composition containing (A) dl-cis/trans- 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid 3-phenoxybenzyl ester (general name: permethrin) and (B) 2,4,6-tribromophenol. The insecticidal composition can be used in the form of oil solution, emulsion, dust, wettable powder, granule, etc. Effective to keep a house, building material, household effects, furniture, general industrial material, etc. from the hazard of termite, lyctid, etc.
