Abstract

PURPOSE: To replace a boring bar arranged with a suitable cutting edge tip quickly on a main spindle of a machine tool through a mount body provided with a suitable number of concavities radially for mounting.
CONSTITUTION: A suitable cutting edge tip 3 is fixed on a boring bar 4 through a holder 13, and the bar 4 is mounted detachably on a mount body 1 with a clamp ring 5. A convexity 9 is provided on the boring bar 4 so that it engages with a concavity of the mount body 1. The clamp ring 5 is also provided with a concavity 11 coping with said convexity. For mounting of the bar 4, the concavity 11 of the ring 5 is fitted to the concavity 6 of the body 1, and the convexity 9 is inserted therein to fasten the ring; for demounting of the bar 4, the ring 5 is loosened to fit the concavity 11.
