Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve frequency-temperature characteristics over a wide temperature range by connecting two independent compensating circuits in series and direct to an AT-plate quartz oscillator and by dividing the compensation range into two parts above and below the normal temperature. CONSTITUTION:Thermistor RP(T) and capacitor CP are connected in parallel to constitute a compensating circuit unit and two compensating circuit units are connected in series and direct across AT-plate quartz oscillator Y. In this constitution, one circuit unit covers the compensation range above the normal temperature, and the other below it. Namely, the ratio between the reactance of the capacitor constituting the compensating circuit and the resistance value of the thermistor is set to >=6 for the low-temperature range and to <=0.1 for the high-temperature range. The resistance used for compensation sensitivity adjustment is connected to the thermistor in parallel for the low-temperature range and in series for the high-temperature range. Thus, frequency-temperature characteristics are improved over a wide range of -30-+80 deg.C.
