Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve stable ink jet without delay in time even when a power source is charged by a method wherein the supply voltage of an electrostrictive strain element is changed corresponding to the change in the temperature of ink in the ink- jet printer and the reduction of the capacity of an ink chamber is changed.
CONSTITUTION: The AC voltage is given to the primary side of a transformer 11, while a diode 12 is connected to the secondary side thereof for commutation, and the commutation output thereof is smoothed by a capacitor 13 and later is impressed on a series circuit composed of a resistance 14, a thermistor 15 and a Zener diode 16 and on the collector of a transistor 17. The gate of the transistor 17 is connected with the connecting point of the resistance 14 with the thermistor 15 and the output obtained from the emitter of the transistor 17 is taken out as the voltage VH through the intermediary of a filter composed of the capacitor 18 and a resistance 19. The resistance value of the thermistor 15 lowers with the rise of temperature and increases with the lowering of the temperature. Therefore, by using this, the supply voltage VH of the piezoelectric element can be changed in relation to the temperature and thereby the temperature-viscosity characteristic as shown in the figure is achieved.
