Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate manipulation while conducting the maintenance work of machine facilities above the surface by a mechanism wherein a marine work base is divided into two, i.e. surface and underwater platforms, and connected vertically by means of wires.
CONSTITUTION: A marine work base is provided with an underwater platform 20, near outer circumferences thereof are equipped with legs 21 independently capable of rising and falling by remote control and which is sunk in the bottom of the water and can erect the legs, and a surface platform 10, which floats just above the underwater platform 20 and is furnished with a plurality of wires 13 connecting the underwater platform 20 and the surface platform 10 in loose and tight-free shapes while being fitted with a moon pool 11 capable of housing the underwater platform 20. The desired work is conducted by unifying the platforms 10, 20 or lowering the platform 20 underwater as necessary by using the marine work base formed in this manner.
