Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled material which can be cured and insolubilized easily by photoirradiation, and is useful as a coating material of glass, metals, etc., by the use of a haloacetylated chitosan as a main component.
CONSTITUTION: Chitosan obtained by the hydrolytic deacetylation of chitin of formula by heating with a strong alkali, is esterified with a haloacetic acid to obtain the objective material. If desired, ≤20wt% of a sensitizer (e.g. naphthalene) is added to the material as an agent for accelerating the insolubilization reaction.
