Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of maintenance of a CATV system by transmitting a picture signal from one center to buildings and by receiving it by television receivers installed in respective buildings. CONSTITUTION:In one specific hotel 20 among hotels 20-24 in an adjacent area, picture signal transmitter 25 is installed which corresponds to a center. Picture signal transmitter 25 resends a general TV broadcast received by antenna 26 and also generates its original program to transmit it over a specific channel. In respective hotels 20-24, receiving distributors 27-31 and television receivers provided in guest rooms are installed and connected via cables. Further, picture signal transmitter 25 is connected to receiving distributors 27-31 via cable 32. Consequently, the picture signal transmitter high in maintenance cost is used in common to attain the CATV system at a low cost among middle and small buildings.
