Abstract

PURPOSE: To ignite liquid fuel instantaneously and to shorten the time required for obtaining steady and stable combustion in a burner, by vaporizing liquid fuel through heating of a vaporizing sleeve, and transferring combustion flame on the surface of a wick to the vaporized fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A turning plate 12 for atomizing liquid fuel by the centrifugal force is provided in a vaporizing sleeve 1 of a burner and a wick 5 is disposed around the vaporizing sleeve 1 on the outside thereof. When liquid fuel is ignited by an ignition heater 19, combustion is started on the surface of wick 5 and liquid fuel vaporizing blue flame 20 is formed. Vaporizing sleeve 1 is heated by the blue flame 20, and liquid fuel scattered from turning plate 12 impinges onto the inner wall surface of sleeve 1 and vaporized instantaneously. The vaporized fuel is carried upward after mixing with combusting air and issued from main flame holes 3 as premixture gas 25. Then, the pre-mixture gas 25 is ignited by vaporizing blue flame 20, thus completing flame transfer smoothly.
