Abstract
PURPOSE:To generate motive power while using low-pressure steam or a flow of both steam and water as it is in a rotary expansion machine having an inner rotor of trochoidal shape and an outer rotor, by making the opening of the outer rotor coincident with the steam inlet port of a wheel chamber. CONSTITUTION:An inner rotor 13, whose contour is a trochoid, and an outer rotor 13, whose contour is the external envelope on the trochoid, are eccentrically installed in an internal wheel chamber 16. The opening S of the outer rotor and the steam inlet port (i) of the wheel chamber are made coincident with each other in a position where the volume of a space defined by the inner rotor 13 and the outer rotor 14 is minimum. Steam or a flow of both steam and water is introduced in between both the rotors through the steam inlet port (i) and the opening S and expands and is discharged through an exhaust pipe 12. This results in economically and efficiently generating motive power.
