Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance by a method wherein a covering layer of specified thickness made of a least one of specified metals is formed on the surface of a tip. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a tip of a soldering tool of a hard metal tip, there is formed a hard covering layer of 0.5-20mum in thickness consisting of multiple layers of a metal selected from those in Group 4a-6a of the periodic table, compounds such as those of Al and Si, and two or more of these. Accordingly, abrasion resistance is improved.
