Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of medium for the identification of bacterium and the time necessary for the inoculation of the bacterium, and to enable the clear and distinct determination, by pouring various kinds of fresh culturing media into a number of cavities bored to a plate, and inoculating and culturing one kind of bacterium to be identified in all media poured in the cavities.
CONSTITUTION: A number of cavities 1 are bored to the flat medium vessel 2, and each cavity is furnished with one kind of fresh culturing medium 3. The bacterium to be identified is inoculated in each medium. The medium 3 which necessitates an anaerobic environment is covered with moletn soft paraffin after the inoculation. After the inoculation and other necessary procedures, the vessel 2 is sealed with a cap 4, and the cultivation of the bacterium is carried out. The process of the invention eliminates the troublesome procedures of the conventional identification process, i.e. opening of the screw cap of each culturing vessel, pouring of medium to the vessel, inoculation of the bacteria, closing of the cap of each vessel, etc., and drastically saves the time for preparation. The determination of negative or positive after the cultivation can be achieved at a glance.
