Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the initial performance as well as the life performance of a lead acid battery, by using a positive plate containing both a graphite of a high anisotropy and acid-proof fibers. CONSTITUTION:Both a graphite powder of a high anisotropy which is prepared by subjecting natural graphite to heat treatment at a high temperature, and acid-proof short fibers made of polyester or the like are added in preparing a paste by a well known method. The paste is packed into a lead alloy grid, thereby a positive plate being obtained. Following that, thus obtained positive plates are combined with negative plates, thereby a lead acid battery being constituted.
