Abstract

PURPOSE: A metal covering composition having improved adhesiveness, corrosion resistance, and welding properties, obtained by blending an epoxy resin and an organic phosphorus compound as a binder with zinc powder and magnesium compound powder.
CONSTITUTION: The desired composition obtained by blending (A) an epoxy type coating vehicle, e.g., bisphenol A type epoxy resin, and (B) an organic phosphorus compound, e.g., tris(nonylphenyl)phosphate, etc. as a binder with (C) zinc powder and (D) magnesium compound powder, e.g., magnesium oxide, etc. as essential ingredients. With a proviso that a weight ratio of ingredient A to B is 45:55W95:5, and the contents of the ingredients C and D are 30W95wt% and 0.1W5wt% respectively based on total involatile amount of the composition.
