Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect an incremental position of a pulse motor in a rotating direction as an electric signal capable of being digitally processed by converting multiphase drive pulses from a drive circuit of the motor into binary signals corresponding to the increments of the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of multiphase drive pulses from the drive circuit 2 of a pulse motor 1 are converted into binary signals corresponding to the increments of the rotary shaft of the motor to generate the binary signal at every increment of the rotary shaft. For instance, 4-phase drive pulse from the output of the drive circuit 2 is converter by a decoder 4 into binary digital signal, which is branched in response to the energizing system by the converting circuit 5. This output is held in a holding circuit 7 through a waveform shaper 6, discriminated in forward or reverse by discriminators 8, 9, and the outputs are further outputted through a memory circuit 10 to output terminals 11, 12.
