Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a device which permits full automation of operations required from preheating of a burner, which needs preheating beforehand, to starting of combustion through the manipulation of a plural number of power sources and two safety valves with capacitors by means of only a single knob. CONSTITUTION:If a gas path is opened with a handle 1 turned, gas flowing through a gas inlet 2 is fed to gas valves 3 and 4. Electromagnetic valves V1 and V2, which open the gas path through the thermoelectromotive force, are then opened in synchronism with a cam working conjointly and in synchronism with the handle 1, and simultaneously, are held in an opening manner with an electric power supplied by means of capacitors C1 and C2 which are connected to and charged with their respective power sources. With a burner starting in combustion, the electromagnetic coil in the electromagnetic valve V2 is excited with an electromotive force generated by a thermocouple 7, and the valve V2 is held in an opening state in the place of the electric power from the capacitor C2. If a sufficient thermoelectromotive force is not generated in the thermocouple 7 during the discharging period of the capacitor C1, the valves V1 and V2 are caused to close.
