Abstract
PURPOSE:To exercise positioning control stable against noises by using an incremental INC position signal for speed detection and a digital absolute position signal, which is in proportion to even the position of a motor, for position control by the carriage feed mechanism of an impact type serial printer. CONSTITUTION:In the serial printer, movement distance signal 4c and direction designating signal 4b from external controller 4 are set in positioning control circuit 1 with set signal 4a to control motor 3. Circuit 1 sends couples of 90 deg. out-of-phase sine-wave driving signals 1a and 1b, and 1f and 1g equal in amplitude to position detector 2 connected mechanically to motor 3. Detector 2 detects position detection signals 2a and 2b, proportional to the extent of movement of the motor, and feeds them back to circuit 1. Circuit 1 generates an INC position signal until a position at a certain distance from the target position of the motor to control the moving speed of motor 3 and positions motor 3 at the target position with the absolute position signal between the said position and the target position to drive carriage 8 to the desired position via pulleys 5 and 6.
