Abstract

PURPOSE: To save transcribing time and provide a correct transcription by a method wherein the imformation on a reading surface is read by a read pen and then printed on a predetermined transfer medium.
CONSTITUTION: A moving pulse generator consisting of a light detector 14a, 14b and a disc provided with slits 12 is provided at the tip end of the read pen 1, and also a linear shade signal generator 8 is provided at the tip end. With the read pen 1 softly pressed against the characters to be transcribed, the reflected portion of the light emitted from a light source 15 acts on a light receiver 16 to generates shade signals. Then, with the read pen 1 moved, the disc 9 rotates and moving pulse signals are generated. A printer 17 advances stepwise in syncronism with the moving pulse signals, and is operated by the shade signals to print the read information on printing paper 21.
