Abstract

PURPOSE: To avert the sudden increase of an input stroke after tha limit of boosting force by a method wherein an elastic member in a control piston is pressurized and deformed and according to subject deformation said piston and a power piston are made into an integral body.
CONSTITUTION: When a brake pedal is operated, a valve mechanism 20 is actuated to flow the atmosphere into a changing pressure chamber and the power piston 12 is advanced. Due to the advance of the power piston 12, an output rod 76 is advanced by means of a reaction lever 67 and a master cylinder is actuated to apply braking. The reaction applied by the reaction lever 67 to a large diametral plunger 32 is increased proportionally to the increase of braking effect and a control disk 36 is elastically deformed to get into an opening 61 and a friction member 63 is urged to the inner surface 13b of the annular member of the power piston 12 through a plunger 62. Through the frictional force produced at the urged region, the power piston 12 and the control piston 19 are made into an integral body.
