Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve stability of a cationic electrodeposition film to be coated on Ni-Zn or Zn plating by applying the said plating in which Cr hydrate disperses in the final, in electroplating an Ni-Zn alloy on a sheet steel.
CONSTITUTION: In the production of an Ni-Zn alloy electroplated sheet steel suited for body parts of automobiles, it is electroplated in an Ni-Zn plating bath or Zn plating bath contg. 0.05W1.0g/l Cr (VI) ion in at least the final plating cell of an electroplating line. An Ni-Zn plating layer or Zn plating layer in which Cr hydrate disperses is formed in a ≥0.3μ range on the plating layer having been electroplated with Ni-Zn. This Cr hydrate controls the dissolution of Zn in the plating layer, thereby preventing the peeling of the cationic electrodeposition film coated thereon and stabilizing the same.
