Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an overload error, by expressing two adjacent points with a PCM code when the distance between them exceeds the length which can be expressed with the DPCM code, in a hand written signal coding system. CONSTITUTION:The distance between adjacent coordinate points 2(x1, y1) and 3(x2, y2) of the hand written signal is expressed with m-bit DPCM code. If this distance is 2<m> dots or more, it is not expressed with the DPCM code, but two coordinates of coordinate points 2(x1, y1) and 3(x2, y2) are expressed with the PCM code. Consequently, overload error in expressing with the DPCM code is prevented.
