Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled wire excellent in the working efficiency and slag covering property which is composed of the outer skin of soft steel band material, inside rutile, iron oxide, kalifeldspar, etc., and a flux containing Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, C and Fe as a deoxidizer and an alloying agent. CONSTITUTION:A wire containing CO2 sealed flux to be used for hardened padding is constituted of the outer skin of soft steel band material and the inside slag whose weight is equal to 5-30% of the weight of skin. This flux is composed of 18-50% rutile, 1-10% iron oxide, 1-10% kalifildspar, 1-15% zircon sand, 2-15% alumina, 0.5-3.0% NaF, and the following elements as deoxidizers and alloying agents; 1-8% Si, 1-22% Mn, 2-40% Cr, >=8% Mo, >=3.5 C and >=40% Fe. This wire stabilizes the welding arc and increases the viscosity, fluidity and surface tension of the molten slag, so that floating of slag may be maintained under the most suitable condition and, at the same time, the surface of bead will be covered with the slag uniformly and removal of slag will be made easier.
