Abstract
PURPOSE:To convert the emitted light of a semiconductor laser into a fine spot light efficiently, by using a light transfer element for one-dimensionl/two-dimensional conversion. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber bundle 3 is so constituted that while flank 4 opposing to semiconductor laser 1 is linear, flank 5 at the luminous-flux emission side is square. However, the shape of each optical fiber may be rectangular and circular, and that of flank 5 may be circular. In addition, an optical fiber having no clad may be used. When this optical fiber bundle 3 is bonded to the linear light emission surface of semiconductor laser 1, the focusing power density can be improved by utilizing the output of the semiconductor laser effectively, and using this for a recorder provides high-speed recording.
