Abstract

PURPOSE:To quantify the density of phosphate anion in very small quantities in water simply and precisely by separating and condensing molybdic acid blue by using a finely-porous film made from regenerated cellulose and by examining the color thereof. CONSTITUTION:The solution prepared by turning the phosphate anion in water to be measured into the molybdic acid blue by a conventional method is passed through the finely-porous film made from regenerated cellulose and thereby the molybdic acid blue is separated and condensed. The color tone on the finely-porous film is examined macroscopically or the reflection ratio or peameation ratio on the surface thereof is measured. By comparing the result thus obtained with a color-tone table or a measurement line prepared beforehand, the density of the phosohate anion is found.
