Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a valve from damages and noises due to vibration of the same, by making the fluid flow through the valve stable by forming an edge at a part of the valve body where the boundary layer formed over the surface of the valve body is unstable and separation of the boundary layer tends to occur, located downstereams of the position where the valve body is held in contact with its valve seat.
CONSTITUTION: An edge 8 and a recess 9 are formed at the lower end part of a valve body 3. When fluid flows along the surface of the valve body 3 at the time when the valve is opened slightly, a boundary layer of the fluid is formed over the surface of the valve body 3. Here, the edge 8 serves to cause separation of fluid flow positively before unstable separation is not caused due to development of the boundary layer. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to stabilize the fluid flow and to remove fluctuating forces acted to the valve body 3.
