Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an approximately pure H2 gas and recycle CO2 as a sealing gas by converting the exhaust gas recovered by sealing the clearance part between an exhaust gas exhaust port and a recovery device by means of a CO2 gas and preventing the entry of the atmospheric air to a conversion gas through CO conversion reaction by steam, and separating CO2 by this. CONSTITUTION:The refining furnace exhaust gas 11 generaed in a converter 10 is sucked and recovered together with a sealing gas into a recovery device 13 through the spacing part between the exhaust port and the device 13 sealed by the CO2. The recovered exhaust gas 14 is sent together with low-pressure steam to a CO converter 15, where it causes CO conversion reaction and forms mixed gases 17 of H2 and CO2. CO2 is separated from this gas 17 in a CO2 removal process 18, and the separated CO2 gas 19 is recycled as a sealing gas 12. The remained H2 gas is stored in a storage tank 20. In some cases, CO is formed other than H2 and CO2 in a CO converter 15, in which cAse methanol is produced from CO and H2 after the separation of CO2.
