Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the controllability of a stereoscopic pickup camera, by securing an automatic control for both the distance between a subject and the cameras and the angle formed by the two cameras. CONSTITUTION:The subject 3 is picked up by two cameras, and each output is applied to the encoder 11. The right-left decision signal is added to the output of one camera, and the right-left signals are switched successively by the encoder 11. Then an image is reproduced on the CRT8 through the tape recorder 12 or decoder circuit 14. This reproduced image is observed as a stereoscopic image with switch of a spectacle-type shutter. The control device 7 is installed to the cameras 1 and 2 each to ensure an automatic control of the distance between the cameras and the subject 3 and the angle formed by the two cameras. Owing to this device 7, even a beginner can take a stereoscopic image in an easy way.
