Abstract
PURPOSE:To make common the programs for electronic computers differing in the type, by decreasing the number of steps of instruction through the interpretation of the address information of a register field at a decoder and enabling the execution of different operation to the same program. CONSTITUTION:When a microinstruction is read out from a main memory unit and the value of instruction field is input to a decoder 23 via a signal line 28, the decoder 23 interpretes the information to input to a selection signal 26 to a data selector 24. While the same instruction is executed, this signal 26 is made at the same state, one of address registers 21, 22 is selected at the selector 24 to designate the address of operation registers R0-Rn of a register file 25. Further, the interpretation of the instruction field with a decoder 23 reduces the number of steps of instruction, and the use of registers 21, 22 in combination can made the program of electronic computers differing in the type commonly usable.
