Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise strength and durability of a fixing roller, by forming a silicone adhesive layer consisting of diorganopolysiloxane, organohydrodienepolysiloxane, silicone resin and a platinum catalyst on the surface of a metallic shaft. CONSTITUTION:A layer of silicone adhesive composed of (a) diorganopolysiloxane having at least 2 alkenyl groups directly combined to silicon atoms in one molecule, (b) organohydrodienepolysiloxane having at least 3 hydrogen atoms directly combined to silicon atoms in one molecule, (c) silicone resin consisting of R2SiO units and/or R3SiO0.5 units, and RSiO1.5 units and/or SiO2 units, and having 50-500mol of R2SiO unit and/or R3SiO0.5 units per/mol of RSiO1.5 units and/or SiO2, and (d) a platinum type catalyst is formed on the surface of a metallic shaft, and this shaft is inserted into a hollow tube of silicone rubber, and undergoes heat treatment, thus permitting a fixing roller made of a silicone rubber having superior mechanical strength and high durability.
