Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the period of transfer clock pulses to make the read speed of a photoelectric conversion information high by dividing one-line components of photoelectric conversion elements into m-number groups and by giving transfer clock pulses to them in time division.
CONSTITUTION: In respect to line sensor 1, photoelectric conversion elements are divided into m-number groups, and transfer clock pulses are applied to the transfer electrode of each group through FET F1∼Fm, and the output end is independent. Transfer clocks are applied to pulse distributing circuit 2 also. Circuit 2 is constituted by m-notation counter 2a and decoder 2b, and the output end of decoder 2b is connected to read drive terminal 1b of sensor 1 connected to bases of FET F1∼Fm. M-number output ends of sensor 1 are connected to amplifiers 31∼3m, and outputs of sensor 1 are subjected to amplification and binary waveform shaping and are applied to latches 41∼4m. Latch updata clock pulses are applied to these latches from decoder 2b. Here, when the period of clock pulses is denoted as TC, pulses with period mTc, pulse width Tc, and the phase shifted by Tc successively appear at the output end of decoder 2b.
