Abstract
PURPOSE:To change the distribution of melting currents flowing in melting glass, and to adjust the distribution of temperature in the titled furnace freely, by a mechanism wherein shafts are rotated which are fixed at the backside eccentric locations of a pair of tabular electrodes oppositely arranged inside of the melting furnace. CONSTITUTION:When one side or both of a pair of tabular electrodes 3, 3 are revolved by rotating shafts 5, the relative, opposite locations of the facing electrodes 3, 3 shift in response to the angles of the revolution. Thus, conductive position of melting currents flowing between the electrodes 3, 3 is moved up and down and left and right with the angles of revolution of the electrodes 3, 3, and the distribution of currents, the distribution of temperature, in a glass melting electric furnace 1 is freely adjusted.
