Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve characteristics so that the focus detecting circuit system has a steep sensitivity even in the position near the focus and an enough sensitivity sufficiently away thereform by inserting the two circuits having different focus detecting characteristics in said circuit system.
CONSTITUTION: The device is so constituted that the incident optical images are converted to electric signals by an image converting device 1 and the electric signals go through a differentiating circuit 2, band-pass filters 3 and 8, integrating circuit 7, etc. to perform focus position detection. Since the band-pass filter 3 fetches the relatively low frequency components of images, the output of the integrating circuit 7 becomes mild in change near the focus point. On the other hand, the band-pass filter 8 fetches the high frequency components of the images and therefore the change near the focus point increases. These two effects of different characteristics are used and are weighted and added by variable resistors 5, 10 and analog adders 6 so that the change near the focus point becomes steep and the change at the periphery becomes gentle.
