Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a coloring composition having yellowish color, strong hiding power, excellent resistance and pigment dispersibility without thermal discoloration by containing a red azo lake pigment exhibiting specified crystalline shape as coloring agent.
CONSTITUTION: A coloring composition containing a pigment represented by the formula with characteristic peaks near 9.9, 5.5 and 4.4Å of spacings of an X-ray diffraction as a coloring agent. The reason why the above pigment is improved in thermal discoloration phenomenon is probably that, though conventional pigments become amorphous owing to elimination of water of crystallization on heating, this one does not become amorphous in spite of the elimination of water of cristallization and thus exempted from thermal discoloration.
