Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a lustrous and smooth silver plating coating from iodide bath causing no environmental pollution, by electrolyzing plating bath added phenol sulfonic acid etc. as brightner to the iodide bath containing silver salts and KI and carrying out silver plating on cathode.
CONSTITUTION: Complex compound is formed by adding silver salts, such as silver nitrate etc., dissolving KI in distilled water and silver is plated on cathode electrolyzing under a suitable condition using silver anode plate and making the cathode as the material to be plated in plating bath added a suitable amount of phenol sulfonic acid and ethoxynaphthalene sulfonic acid as the antioxidant and birghtner. Thus, the silver plated coating having both lustrous and smooth properties suitable for contact point of various electronic products is formed without using conventional cyanide bath causing enviromental pollution.
