Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the automatic equalization for the amplitude distortion and the phase distortion of the FM circuit and thus to enhance the economical properties for the high-quality circuit by giving the phase detection to the higher harmonic of the pilot signal with use of the pilot signal in the base band signals as the standard. CONSTITUTION:The pilot signal contained in the base band signals is extracted through BPF7 to be multiplied, and then the phase detection is given to the higher harmonic of the pilot signal occurring in the base band signals with the multiplication output used as the reference signal. Then equalizer driving circuits 29-32 are driven by the in-phase component and the orthogonal component to the reference signal for the phase detection output. In such way, the automatic equalization is secured for both the phase and amplitude characteristics.
