Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a portable printer which makes no printing noises and whose size, weight and consumed electric power are small, by equipping a battery to energize electric parts or electronic circuits such as the piezoelectric elements of a multiple-nozzle ink-on ink jet head. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 401 is operated to produce a corresponding printing signal by a character generator 402 to drive a piezoelectric element of an ink jet heat 403. At the same time, the head is moved by a necessary quantity through a control section 404 and a head movement and paper feed mechanism driver 405. Electronic circuits are made of C-MOS integrated circuits to reduce the size, cost and consumed power. Numerous nozzles having ink outlet ports 203 and ink passages extending thereto are provided to raise the quality of printing. A battery 101 is provided as a power supply unit. A keyboard 102 is operated to apply a voltage to a necessary piezoelectric element 202 to print a dot.
