Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an organic solvent-free aqueous ink composition of excellent printabiity, comprising a polymer emulsion prepared by dissolving nitrocellulose in a monomer consisting chiefly of an 1W10C alcohol (meth)acrylate followed by dispersion in water and by carrying out polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: In an 1W10C alcohol (meth)acrylate is dissolved 1W50wt%, based on the weight of said ester, of nitrocellulose, and the resulting solution is then dispersed in water to form an emulsion followed by polymerization. The polymer emulsion thus produced in incorporated, if required, with such ingredients as another aqueous synthetic resin, a thicknening agent, a plasticizer, a dye, a pigment, an antifoaming agent, an anti-yellowing agent, a dispersant, etc., thus giving the objective composition. This composition finds many applications such as in typewriter, stamp, duplicating machine, etc., as well as in the surface printing for corrugated boxes.
