Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain effective recording even by laser of slight light-source intensity by providing a thermal insulating layer between the transparent resin base and optical recording thin layer of a recording member which provides laser-beam recording and regeneration. CONSTITUTION:On transparent resin base material (acrylic resin, etc.) 1, thermal insulating layer 6 of resin lower in thermal conductivity than transparent base material 1 of polystyrene, etc., is formed by applying a solution of resin on the base material surface or by vapor-depositing resin oligomer. Next, optical recording layer 2 of an amorphous oxide, etc., is formed on thin film 6. In this way, heat conducted from layer 2 through base material 1 in recording is reduced to attain recording even if the intensity of laser beams is slight. Consequently, recording density can be improved.
