Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the improvement of productivity with an adequate measures arranged for the defect of tool, by promptly and accurately detecting the defect of tool edge point without worsening a processing workability, with the method of vibration detector and tool position detector applied. CONSTITUTION:An information of vibration detector 8 and position detector 9 is inputted to a work controller 10 respectively, and an output of the vibration detector 8 is amplified by an amplifier 12 to a prescribed level, being presented to a decision of edge point defect of a drill 6. While the information of the position detector 9 is inputted to a decision circuit 15 which indicates the drill 6 defective in the edge point or the drill 6 with the edge point not contacting to a work 7. A decision circuit 14 performs these decisions on the basis of informations of the position detection and the vibtation detection, to feed to a controller 16, on the basis of decision results, with a feed machanism 4 driven to control a feed of the main shaft head 3.
