Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound easily and in high yield, by vapor-phase catalytic cracking of an iodine-containing ether produced easily and in high yield through reaction of an acid fluoride with C2F4, I2, KF, and a specific metal such as Mg, Fe, Cu, or Zn.
CONSTITUTION: An iodine-containing ether of formula XRfCF2OCF2CF2I [X is H, Cl, Br, COOR (R is 1W10C alkyl), CONRR' (R' is H or 1W10C alkyl), etc.; Rf is 1W20C bifunctional perfluorinated group, comprising possibly one or more ether bonds] is reacted with a metal such as Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn, Zn-Cu, Zn-Cd, Zn-Pb, Zn-Hg, Sn, or Sb, by vapor-phase catalytic cracking, and IF is eliminated to give a fluorovinyl ether of formula XRfCF2OCF=CF2. An applicable raw material is easily obtained from an acid fluoride of formula ZRfCOF, C2F4, I2, and M'F (M' is K, Rb, etc.).
