Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the waste of time to realize speed up by dividing the picture element signals of one scanning line into plural groups classifying them in the order of scanning, discriminating picture element signal groups to be recorded and flowing current only through corresponding heat generating elements selectively. CONSTITUTION:When using a heat sensitive recording head with plural heat generating elements which correspond respectively to the picture elements forming one scanning line of picture signals, flowing current selectively through heat generating elements corresponding to the signals and making them record on head sensitive recording paper, the picture element signals are classified in scanning order, for example, the signal rows of the first line G1, G3, G5 into (White, White, White), (Black, Black, White), (White, White, White), and the second line G2, G4, G6 (Black, Black, Black), (White, White, White), (White, White, White). And each line is discriminated whether it includes a black signal or not, is jumped when it does not include the black one, and thus lines are selected in sequence. And heat generating elements corresponding to the signals are selected, are flows current simultaneously group by group and these are recorded in sequence.
