Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled bactericide and anti-infective, by adding an alcohol to a solution of a salt of a baceride as a main ingredient and an alkyl sulfate in propylene glycol to give a resulting solution, to which a carboxylvinyl polymer and purified water are added, followed by making the viscosity of the prepared solution a proper value and neutralization.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of a salt of bactericide (e.g., chlorhexidine glucolate, etc.), an alkyl sulfate (e.g., sodium lauryl ether sulfate, etc.) or the alkyl sulfate and an ether type nonionic surface active agent (e.g., polyoxyethylene lanolin ether) in propylene glycol is dissolved in an alcohol to give a transparent solution, to which a carboxylvinyl polymer (carbopol 934, etc. on the market) and purified water are added to make the viscosity of the solution 5,000W40,000 centipoise at 25°C. The solution is neutralized with NaOH, etc. to give a local bactericide and anti-infective having improved application and prolonged effect, penetrable completely to the affected part, exhibiting covering and protecting action on a wound part.
