Abstract
PURPOSE:To make unipolarization of the reference voltage and to enable simplified switch, by switching the direction of charge to the capacitor train depending on the polarity of input voltage and performing the sequential comparison after charge with a given polarity. CONSTITUTION:The sampling switches (SW)71, 72 connecting the common electrode of each capacitance of the capacitor train 2 to the input terminal 1 and the ground G terminal, and SW73, 74 connecting another electrode of the capacitor train 2 to the terminal 1 and ther terminal G respectively via the switching SW71 for D/A conversion are provided. Further, first the input voltage Vin is fed to the comparator 5 by turning on SW71 and off the SW72-74, and after deciding the polarity of input, SW73, 72 are ON when positive polarity and SW71, 74 are OFF, and when negative polarity, SW71, 74 are ON and SW72, 73 are OFF, to charge up the capacitor train 2. Next, according to the specified algorithm, under the control of the sequential approximate control circuit 9, the SW train 3 is switched and A/D conversion is made with sequential comparison with the comparator 5. Thus, the reference voltage Vref can be made to unipolarization and the SW3 can be made simple.
