Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to detect the dynamic vector accurately even with the discontinuity in the movement of picture, by using the dynamic vector detected with the calculation of correlativity for the past as to other block adjacent to the said block, in the picture of one picture period. CONSTITUTION:The input picture signal is written in the frame memory 1 and the buffer memory 2. Next, the address signal from the address generator 5 is fed to the buffer memory 2, and the sample vector signal from the sample vector generator 8 is added with the address signal, and the signal adding the dynamic vector signal from the dynamic vector memory 7 is fed to the output. Further, the picture signals at the present and post frame periods are read out respectively and fed to the correlation calculation section 3 to calculate the correlativity between the blocks. The correlativity value is fed to the maximum judgement unit 5 to detect the dynamic vector from the block toward the strongest correlativity.
