Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an image whitening phenomenon apt to occur in semidry development by using a two-component type diazo copying material consisting of a specified diazo compound and a coupling component. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer consisting of a diazo compound represented by general formula I (where R1 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R2 is 1-3C alkyl; R3 is 1-4C alkyl; and X is an anion), e.g., 4-(2-methylmorpholino)-2,5-diethoxybenzenediazonium chloride.1/2ZnCl2 and of a coupling component represented by general formula II [where R4 is H, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen and R5 is H or a group of formula III (where each of R6 and R7 is 1-4C alkyl, R6 and R7 may form a heterocyclic ring together with N, and n is 1-4)], e.g., 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid dimethylaminoethylamide is formed on a support to obtain a copying material.
