Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A sulfamylimidazole derivative of formula I (R1 is cyano group; R2 is carbamoyl group, or cyano group when R1 is carbamoyl group).
USE: An agricultural and horticultural fungicide having a great control effect on blight of crops, particularly a tomato, potato, and cucumber.
PROCESS: A 4,5-disubstituted imidazole of formula II is condensed with an N,N- dimethylsulfamyl chloride of formula III in the presence of dehydrochlorinating agent, e.g. potassium carbonate, to give the compound of formula I.
