PURPOSE:To enable to grasp the state of subscriber lines and facsimile FAX receivers at the exchange station, by providing the FAX callout signal detecting circuit operated with the power supply at the exchange station, main power supply application circuit, and the first and second response signal transmitting circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a callout signal is input to the FAX receiver 5, the callout signal detecting circuit 6 is operative with a low current from the FAX callout signal transmitting trunk 3 and detects the callout signal. Thus, the circuit 6 transmits the sugnal telling the reception of the callout signal from the first response signal transmitting circuit 7 and starts the main power supply application circuit 8. The circuit 8 turns on the main power supply circuit 9 and supplies power to the reception and recording circuit 10, status monitor circuit 11, and the second response signal transmission circuit 12. After the circuit 11 confirms the circuit 10 which is in a state of normal reception, it transmits the response signal to the exchange station 2 from the circuit 12. Thus, the exchange station 2 can accurately grasp the state of the subscriber line 4 and the unit 5.
