Abstract
PURPOSE:To make small the size of unit and to decrease the cost, by using the modulator and VSB filter used at transmission, for the demodulation and the rejection of harmonics at reception respectively. CONSTITUTION:At transmission, the video signal obtained through the scanning of original 25a with the image sensor 25 is the modulation signal rejected for high frequency componets by means of the MODEM34, VSB filter 35 through the switch 30a and via the binary-ternary value conversion circuit 26, amplitude control circuit 28 and LPF29, and is transmitted to the line 39 via the switch 32a and NCU38. At reception, the switches 30-32 are respectively selected to the positions 30b- 32b. The input signal from NCU38 passes through the AGC circuit 42, is demodulated at the MODEM34 with the carrier signal extracted at the carrier extracting circuit 43, is rejected for the high frequency components at the VSB filter 35, and is input to the ternary-binary value conversion circuit 44. The circuit 44 outputs the input signal as the binary video signal. Since the MODEM and VSB filter are commonly used for transmission and reception, the cost can be decreased and the video quality can be improved.
