Abstract
PURPOSE:To readily perform the test of semiconductor elements constituting each converter by supplying in-house power to an AC/DC converter and a DC/AC converter which start a synchronous generator motor via transformers. CONSTITUTION:Power is supplied to an AC/DC converter 10 and a DC/AC converter 12 which are used as a starter for a synchronous generator motor in a pumped-storage power station and the like from the in-house power supply in the power station via potential transformers 15 and 16, and the defects of the thyristor elements in the converter 10 and 12 are detected by checking the voltages of various portions. Since the voltage in the system need not be used by handling the breaker 9, the testing can be achieved very easily.
