Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the removal capability for a long period of time through efficient recovery of trapped material of magnetic material removed by a magnetic filter from liquid by a method wherein gas-liquid mixture is used to remove the trapped magnetic material from container and to clean it. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic filter consists of an exciter coil 1, container 3 having inside filter element 4, liquid inlet pipe 5, outlet pipe 6, and is used to trap magnetic material from liquid. When trapped amount has reached the defined limit, the coil 1 is demagnetized, the valves 10, 11 are closed, valves 20, 22 are opened, then acceleration pump 19 is actuated and N2 gas is sent from gas supplier device 30 via the inlet pipe 5 into the container 3 so that the gas circulates through the outlet pipe 6 and the pump 19. This allows trapped material to be transferred by uprising gas flow into liquid, which is discharged into slurry recovery reservoir tank 21, thereby resulting in cleaning of the element 4. Regulating of discharge valve 23 of the tank 21 is used to prevent a rapid pressure change in the system.
